I was a margin doodler, which I'm sure comes to no surprise to anyone, though I never had to repeat a grade because of it. It helped me focus actually - if I'm just sitting listening to something without doing anything else, I will get distracted and/or start to fidget. Drawing while listening helped me stay focused, believe it or not. Mine is a multi-tasking mind.
Prologue: A few years after high school when I was throwing out a lot of my old notes, I kept the pages that had illustrations I liked on them.
