I finished it and am halfway through the sequel... though maybe I shouldn't read the rest of the series since that tends to add some info to my discussions that others around me do not have. I'll be carefull... -__-;;

I can't believe I'm gonna miss some! And it's one of my favorite books!

His Majesty's Dragon? Sounds intresting! I'll pop by the library to see if they have it as well... After I turn in fifteen or so over-due books, that is.

I finished it on Wednesday and will read the sequels as soon as I can get my hands on them... *fights not to say anything about the book*

So right now I'm reading The Life of Charlemagne. Surprisingly good...

I've given up hope. u_u Libraries don't have it, the community email list has disappointed, and my parents object to the shipping fees required to buy it. I guess I'll wait for the next book.... *sigh*

Try an electronic version. You can download the book from a variety of e-book vendors. Here's a list of e-book sellers offering "His Majesty's Dragon".

File formats vary; some will only work with specialized reading software. Fictionwise offers a "secure PDF" which ought to work on pretty much any computer. There are often other formats available as well, which may work on PDAs or on specialized book reading devices like the Kindle or Sony's eReader thingy. The main disadvantage is that you have to read them on a screen, and can't print them out. Also, a lot of the times they're almost as expensive as the regular book. Fictionwise.com has "His Majesty's Dragon" for $6.29 (USD), for example, which is only about 50 cents cheaper than buying the print copy. On the other hand, there are no shipping fees, and you can download it and start reading immediately.

Why don't I think of these things myself? Confused Thanks!

The only downside to downloading a book is that I get almost all of my reading done on Saturdays, during which I can't use the computer. But reading one book during the week won't kill me. Very Happy *tries this one on his parents*

no one would take me to pick my book up from the library, and I had no time to walk there, so it's probably been sent back by now. ><;;;

*THREAD NECROMANCY MUCH*

Okay, so I realise that this thread has been dead for some time, but I was wondering if there were any forum members who might be interested in re-starting it? I've been doing a lot of reading recently, and I'm looking for suggestions and to share thoughts with people...

Any takers? Or should I just start an entirely new thread for this? Any book suggestions?

I'd like to join, but I might suggest starting a new thread, as new people will be interested and you might want to set new rules and such forth and so on.

Kushty, I'll set up a new thread and check out the rules of the previous Book Discussion thread then, though it'll take me a while to dig through the old posts... Bear with me!
