Would you push the button, max?

Hey all,

I don't know if I've mentioned this on the forum before, but I'm going to be a guest at A-Kon in Texas this coming June (woo!) and I'd like to have some merchandise to sell there. Namely some buttons.

I've got a few ideas, but I'd greatly appreciate some suggestions. Even if it's just to tell me what you like in a button. Or what some of your favourite buttons are that you already have.

I'm going to be doing the little 1 inch ones and I know I'll be doing one of the Tomgeeks logo. I'm also going to be using Mad Cow Buttons to make them - unless someone knows of a cheaper place that they'd like to tell me about.

So... lay it on me!

Cool! Wish I could go, and I would if I could.

What about iconic character phrases? Or clips of your sound effects. Just some random ideas that popped into my head. Dunno if they're any good.

Wow... Mane just misspelled Zaebos. I think the world just died a little.

I don't want to do any Earthsong buttons, to be honest. I need things that will appeal to people who have never heard of my comic.

The Wiple Tree! I thought it was pretty, and you don't need to say it's the Wiple Tree, right?

Or - or - hmm. I don't know what else would fit on a one-inch pin. Just draw random abstract designs and make 'em all pretty in Photoshop (or whatever you use). Or other character portraits. Didn't you draw a gecko at one point? Draw cute animals! ^_^

What about different flower blossoms? Unique, colorful and fit nicely on a button. Also, different faces (not just the smiley face- could have an emo face, an artisty face, a zen face). Easy and cute, but still in the simplistic style of a smiley face.

What about warning buttons? Like: WARNING: super-hot mama and WARNING: angsty teenager.

I really like Vi's idea. If you did the warning buttons, you'd need to do some research and find the demographics of this con. (I mean, if there are really no pregnant people/women, it'd be silly to make a pregnant button.)

Sorry, I misread Vi's post and envisioned buttons targeting pregnant women. Which I'm sure a few will go to the con, but I didn't think there'd be a huge market for pregnant-themed buttons. That Vi didn't suggest. *scratches head* I'm honestly not sure WHAT I read any more.
