Today it is ridonkulously beautiful in the land of the troll! Snow fell all of yesterday and today the skies are clear and pale blue. The sun is coming directly into my bedroom window so I have my curtains and my window open and I'm catching as many rays as I can ^_^

I'm so glad I went to bed when I did last night. Everyone else is rough and missing out on this glorious morning!

Yesterday my group finally finished our advertising project. I spent the rest of the day chilling out and finished my book in celebration. With this project, my research paper, and my rough draft done, I actually have time to read now. o_o

On Friday, when it's all turned in there will be great rejoicing.

Today I think I should read my required chapters of Great Expectations while my mom is out of the house. Because when she's here and she catchings me laughing while I'm reading it she can never resist saying "I told you it was funny. But no one would believe me!"

And gosh darnit today is April Fool's day. A fact I keep forgetting. My gullibility and I are not suited to this holiday. ><;;;

@Tinman: I'm sorry, man. It's never easy, I don't think. I don't think it ever should be easy, though. Someone once told me that the reason it hurts when we lose people is because it should hurt. Since they were such a powerfully important piece of what makes us who we are, the lack.. is suffered. It doesn't get easier, but you do, eventually, get used to it. I don't want to say that the pain goes away, but you can grow accustomed to it, adapt to it.

We'll be here if at all you need us. At least I will, or I'll try to be.

Today my father pulled some strings with a fellow he knows who was rather concerned with my situation, when it was explained to him. He's a rather well respected surgeon, so I suppose that's good. I'm to bring him the disc with my MRI on it tomorrow, and he'll have me to see a good friend of his own within the week. Won't need to wait until the 20th after all. ^_^

Much homework to do. Still not crazy, but my workload is trying pretty hard. Wink

Today I tilled the garden (will post pictures up in a moment), romped around with Darrion, and received about five lectures from my father about being so risky. *rolls eyes* Says the guy walking around recovering from heart bypass! Though he does have a point... I just... >> I'll post more in the venting thread.

Off to shower, laundry, and then do homework until I pass out. Darrion is here this week. ^_^ I'm going to take him to my math class on Thursday (since he loves Math), just to show him what the "big league" is like. Not sure how it'll go, but we'll see.

Edit: I really, really, really like the straw hat picture posted in the picture thread.

First of all, of course we're all here for Tin. We're all here for everyone. And anyone how isn't here for everyone had better have a good reason *evil eye*

Secondly, Usa... yeah - I can see why your dad's fretting about risk. Just be careful, I guess.

Thirdly, today I cleaned the fridge for Passover with my roommate and... completely avoided doing any cleaning in my room whatsoever. Mostly because I started reading when I woke up this morning, and then had no strength to put the book down. (That's a direct translation from Hebrew: "ain li koach..." basically means "Ach, I can't do it." Students do it all the time. "Ach, morah, ain li koach..." [Ach, teacher, I don't have the strength for homework...] it's a really appropriate phrase.)

So anyway, yeah. Have a little job in a bit, to mediate a conference call and patch people through. Hopefully when I get back from that in four hours I'll be able to at least pick up the clothes in my room... if I don't start reading at all.

You can always trade your risk for his, Tenshi - probably not explicitly but if he wants you to take less risks, and you want him to take less risks -shrug- Sounds like a trade to me ^^;

Anyway, yeah, take it easy. Short-term gains probably aren't offset by the potential long-term loss here.

Today I really like the idea of solar hot water systems....

Today I think SWAT teams are lucky criminals tend to be stupid. Can you imagine them going into a criminal's home who was actually intelligent? He's had months or years to set up his side of things. It wouldn't end well.

Today, still can't find a good provider of shirts. Perhaps I should just go back to making my own. At least they'll be my size and cut the way I like them then. For gosh sake: Stop putting shallow yokes on the things! If the yoke stops forwards of the upper curve of the spine it makes you look stoop shouldered and ruins the entire hang of the shirt....

And I just realised I sound incredibly girly. >_<

Seriously though people, a shirt may not be tightly fitted along the body but it's not a t-shirt, it does have some innate properties to it.

You really don't sound girly, Nem.

I have a friend who's apprenticed to be a tailor, it's been his dream for years and years. He talks about this stuff all the time, and yeah - he's definitely a guy. Shirts and suits and ties and buttonholes...

Yesterday I finished half my pesach cleaning list! Today I finished half of the rest! Only four out of ten things left to do: sweep, dust, and change my sheets, them put those sheets in the laundry (along with whites). The sheets and laundry will wait until Thursday, because what's the point in getting rid of crumbs in the bed then climbing back in with crumbs clinging? So that's the plan.

Also I have to read lines today, there's rehearsal and I neglected to read the scene ahead of time.

Also I have to make some progress on academic type stuff. (*scowl*)

Also I have to apply for a travel document.

Today listened to the song Usa posted, and the others by that artist... very thoughtful music, and just what I needed. ^_^

@Nem: I knew a kid in my teens who used to booby-trap his grandparents' house. He was a mad genius like that, and I really wondered if he'd ever end up accidentally killing more than small woodland creatures. Eventually he joined the Navy Seals. Go figure. O_o

And a well tailored suit is worth more than almost any other item of wardrobe. Feels better, looks better, ages better, represents you better... No, you're not girly at all. In fact, I'd suspect it makes you a bit more masculine and self-aware to realize the importance of good, quality clothing.

@Asa: Glad the music was helpful..

"ain li koach"... For some reason, I'm having trouble accepting that string of words into my vocabulary. What is this "don't have the strength" business of which you speak? *squints, and grins lopsidedly*

I'm either still kicking - in which case I'm still trying - or I'm not, in which case... I'm not. I ask not for a lighter burden, just for stronger shoulders.

Today I wonder how Tinman is doing. It's not easy going through what he's going through, and I wish I could do more for him..

Today I lament that I haven't thanked everyone by name for their concern, but I have recognized each name by each post. So, even if I haven't said it directly, thank you. <3

I'm fine, thanks. Grandmother's death was hardly unexpected considering she was 98. It has also been some time since I saw her on anything like a regular basis. I think perhaps it hasn't really hit me yet, and probably won't till I go home for the memorial service. "A thousand miles away" and "dead" are naturally different; but when you're that far away, a suddenly dead person isn't any more absent than before.

Today I worked out that the simple, easy, normal approach to a task would simply not work, period, because of an annoying difference between Windows and Linux. So, naturally, it'll have to be the hard, difficult, arcane approach...

Today my todo list is as follows:

MORNING:
Say prayers (DONE)
Eat breakfast (DONE)
Clear the last few items off my flat surfaces (DONE)
Dust said surfaces (DONE)
Dust again (DONE)
Sweep floor (DONE)
Sweep again (DONE)
Put items back where they belong (DONE)

I'm a bit behind since it's already a quarter to eleven...

AFTERNOON:
Go out for lunch (not a speck of food in my pantry except a jar of jelly) (Had an ice cream...)
Figure out which lines I'm supposed to rehearse today (DONE)
Rehearse lines
Rehearse lines
Go to rehearsal
Rehearse lines
Go to sleep

TOMORROW: Remake the bed and do a sheets load.

I think I'll do a load today as well. (DONE)

Thanks for letting me use the forum as a memo pad. ^__^

EDIT: Got morning chores done, but then a friend called just before 1:00 and we went walking in the fields behind the neighborhood instead of me reading lines. So now it's 3:30, and I'm going to do lines now.

Today I saw Cirque du Soleil. It was amazing, I loved every minute of it. ^ ^

Cirque du Soleil is amazing! Which show did you see? ^____^

Today I stayed a bit late after my creative writing class to read a friend's story. He's not in my workshop group, so I haven't gotten a chance to read it yet. It turned into the three of us (there was another friend that stayed to do the same) talking in the classroom for two hours. It was so much fun. ^______^

Now of course, I don't have much time to work on my own story. Which is due in a week. Augh.

Today I had my ipod during breakfast. I picked it up and put it down somewhere, and when I turned around I forgot where I put it. Now I can't find it.

In other news, my room sparkles, and it actually feels pretty good. Still procrastinating on academic type stuff, but I suppose I'll finish the one paper today and get at least one thing done.

EDIT: Found the ipod, it had fallen behind the couch cushions. Kudos to my roommate for being patient while I panicked, and maintaining her equanimity when I accused her of taking it by accident. She's the one who suggested checking the couch one more time.

Remmade my bed and packed for tomorrow, and I must admit, it's nice to see my room clean.

Today I set my stove on fire. Luckily my mom kept her cool and put it out while I had a freak out moment in the kitchen.

I'm going to go relearn fire-safety, now.

Tinu -- Ha! That made me laugh. I mean sorry and everything, but it just seemed funny.

Today I got selected as a finalist for the Denver job. In-person interview some time late this month, date to be negotiated.
