Ha! I was sort of expecting a little less... enthusiasm for the reboot image here, but I am pleasantly surprised!

And thanks for reading all that too - took about an hour to write! Some of that background info never will make it's way into the comic, as it's not particularly plot relevant, but I still like plotting it all out.

Today's page! I'm getting a lot of "they both need to grow up!" and/or "I would never act that way!" type comments on this exchange between Willow and Nanashi, to which I would say, of course you wouldn't. It's easy to be objective when you're not actually involved in the conflict.

I don't mind these types of comment, I just worry that sometimes people are trying to tell me that they think the characters ought not to act petty, jealous, over-protective, etc. because THEY wouldn't act that way. It would make for a very boring story if everyone acted impartial and level-headed!

Actually, I think that's exactly my point when I make comments like that. You've made the characters human, which means they're flawed and make mistakes. It's a good thing. ^_^

And please, do keep the secrets coming. I, personally, WANT to know the details that will never make it into the comic.

Oh! Speaking of which! You put a worldmap in the second volume! ^__________^ I was really really happy to see that, and never got around to saying so. Thank you!

Oh dear, I must say I didn't expect Willow to pull the 'who do you think you are?' card. I don't think she would with anyone else, so I still think she's simply angry with Nanashi.

Loved Nanashi's reaction. It's like a more mature version of "oh no you didn't! *finger snap*". Her face was perfect in the second panel. So now the cards are out... a bit more. Willow doesn't respect Nanashi's opinion enough to go by it (right now, not to say she never will or never did) and Nanashi is tired of Willow getting every whim catered to against any other concerns. I bet she'd love to read a few of those websites that detail how parents can drive people around them crazy.

Anyone else now picturing Earthsong showing off pictures of Willow to everyone ad nauseam? "Look at this next set of 300, this is last week. And these 200 are this week... I'm really slacking off, I need to get back into the habit of taking more pictures."

No? Just me? Ok.

And did I mention I feel sorry for Nanashi? I had forgotten how long she'd been on Earthsong... a thousand lifetimes? Even accounting for exaggeration and a short life expectancy in her Earthly occupation, that's a very long time indeed. It's no wonder she's set in her ways, not to mention so dedicated to keeping things safe. Don't want that much work to go to waste.

I was hoping for Tristram, he said he needed new clothes! Also I think that being at the spinster is the perfect opportunity to do clothing changes if you wanted! I really like the current designs, but I also loved the rebooted images you showed us!!

Hehe... I don't mean to mock anyone for saying it, but I've had a LOT of people tell me that "Hey, you could totally get Spinster to change their clothes if you wanted" to which I tilt my head ever so slight and think to myself "...I know".

LOL... Spinster EXISTS because I want to change their outfits! That said, he became MUCH more than that as I plotted out this volume, and I really enjoy his character.

So YES, costume changes are on the way! To a certain extent anyhow Wink

And just because I like a character doesn't mean ... unpleasant things can't happen to them.

You know, I bet this was exactly what Nan was worried about. If the Madragoras found him making exquisite clothes that they hadn't ordered, they'd know that the Guard would soon be consolidated or distracted by a celebration. Plus Skogul may try to follow them home.

Aww, less of a kick off than I hoped, but it will be interesting to see how Willow handles seeing Trissy again. Obviously she can't let on that he saved her in the end, so will she be able to keep her cool?
