Spiders, mythologically speaking, are associated with some very different concepts. In general, there's poison and death, but the web-weaving is interpreted in various ways. Sometimes the web is creation itself, or the threads of destiny; sometimes it is a veil that lies over reality to cloud it; sometimes it protects.

The threads of destiny seem like a good one. If he's precognitive, even only by a few seconds, he'd be very hard to hit.

I think you're overthinking the mythological angle. We know already that his entire species is telepathic, and according to Word of Lady, telepathy is humans' soulstone power (unless that's been un-declared), so it's probably not his. This leaves the possibility that it is tangentially related to his power. I'm thinking mind control (perhaps in the form of a Voice of Command, like we originally believed Morgan to have).

Both good ideas. I think it's poison, though, or possibly sickness. Maybe by touch, or maybe from a distance.

Any more volunteer ideas?

I think it's some sort of fortification ability. Something that keeps his power constrained to one place. If he objected to them killing each other and was able to exercise that sort of power all over the place, there'd not be a conflict. Though admittedly he may prefer them just to do it out of his sight.

I think telepathy is just a feature of his species, like wings are to Felucca. No, I think the venomous webs are much more likely to be part of his soulstone power - though I bet that a shrieking war cry inside your head doesn't hurt his cause, either.

And we don't know humans' soulstone power yet.

I get the feeling that Spinster's power has to do with his arms. Probably webbing people up and eating them. At first I thought maybe he could summon spider minions to fight for him, like in that Harry Potter movie lol. But that doesn't seem likely.

There's got to be some dialogue between Tristram and Willow in the next few pages I think. In more of my random daydreaming: a fight's bound to break out at some point between Nanashi and Skogul, which would probably lead to Spinster intervening and someone getting hurt and Willow going berserk on them with her hidden eve powers. XD

In all seriousness though, I think Spinster's power has something to do with his mouth and permanently removing people from the face of Earthsong. Like eating them? Or killing them in a very bad way. Though I can't see why that would faze Nanashi. She would rather send all the Mandragora's home than kill them, but she certainly hasn't shown must restraint in hurting them when Earthsong (or, by extension, Willow) are in danger.
