FUN FACT:
"Mieu", or perhaps more accurately, "miew" is the ancient Egyptian word for "cat". Who loves a naming onomatopoeia? The Egyptians, that's who!

Also, the Jackal is Sinuhe, and the Cat is Wosret.

HA! I was double checking the meaning of Wosret and realised that I had forgotten that it's a female name! (names that end in "t" tend to be)

So I guess I'm going to have to change it ^_^;

But to answer the question, it means "powerful one" and feel free to use it!

Double post! His name is now Ptahhotep.

(I like to pick names that came up in my hieroplyphs courses - we translated the "Instructions of Ptahhotep", which were "wisdom liturature" or proverb style teachings to tell young men how to behave)

Ptahotep is brilliant too. At this rate I'll have enough cats to make the neighbourhood kids tell horror stories about me Wink

And I like that the ancient egyptians had guides like that! There's an old French folksong along similar lines giving advice to young ladies which makes me giggle. "Young ladies, in the springtime of life; pick violets and find a young man. But if he's unfaithful, kick him to the curb!"

I've abstained for reading for a month or two so I was stoked to start reading again - so much so that I still haven't written that lab report. But! I had to drop in and say how awesome your comic is. It always keeps me coming back.

I know I'm not alone when I say I would like to see more Tristram, though!

Also, I don't know if I mentioned this before - I really like Skogul's flying goggles. Why doesn't she have those during the summer, too? They match the outline of her eyebrows!

I had originally intended it to have a light blue background, but I accidentally switched the texture layer to "multiply" and it turned black-blue and I loved it. It helps it really feel like it's underwater.

Now if only the ftp server would let me upload the schtinkin' thing.
