Today I went to the doctor's.
Bit of background, I hurt my back again on Christmas Eve. This time around's the worst it's been since the first time I injured it several years ago. I was in a lot of pain and had a great deal of difficulty walking--so I spent the holidays hobbling around the house. By myself. While the rest of my family went to my aunt's for Christmas.

This is the . . . third? time this year. I had to see a different doctor than usual, and I'm actually glad I did. She took one look at my medical history and packed me off to physical therapy. So that starts . . . sometime after New Years. Hopefully it will help stop this happening.

I hope everyone has had a good holiday season. =)

Congrats Mane!

*cocks head* I would have thought you'd have had PT anyway. What's the difference this time? I hope it works out, Nu!

My life... has been nothing. For the past few weeks I've spent the entire day (minus about three hours in the evenings) in bed. I'm seeing a new doctor who doesn't want to put me on meds at all, and my mom is getting frustrated that I'm not working. "Just do it, that's all that's holding you back!" So yes. -_-

*hugs* I hope the new doc is able to helps. Sometimes those meds do more harm than good. = (
Is there any way you can try to explain it to your mother so that she'll understand how difficult it is for you?
My thoughts and prayers are with you--we're cheering for you!

I think the difference is that I finally had a doctor who was willing to listen to me about it instead of taking one look at me and telling me to lose weight. I've tried to explain how easily I hurt my back so many times, and my normal doctor never listened. I'm well aware that my weight doesn't help matters, and I've made appropriate lifestyle adjustments, but I don't think my weight has much bearing on anything when I stub my toe on a box full of Christmas ornaments and can barely walk for the next two days.

Today I finally caught up on reading Earthsong! Time well spent.

Today I'm going to scour the internet until I find a site to watch the Doctor who christmas special.

Today I feel like I should tell all yall that I went and got engaged this last fall. So that happened. Does anyone want to plan a wedding... cause I don't.

Today feels like it's gonna be a good day.

Hi, it's been a bit quiet hasn't it?

I've been doing a Masters degree, it's pretty stressful and I'm struggling with it but I think I passed an important milestone today.

I had to do a presentation for my course which is a big deal for me. I hate presentations and I've always avoided them, but I couldn't get out of doing this one short of dropping out of the degree (which I did consider at one point).

But the presentation was today, and I did it and got a decent enough mark!

Hopefully it will stop overshadowing the rest of the course and I might actually be able to enjoy it now.

Congrats, Britland! That's fantastic.

Similarly, I've been struggling through my MA - my major milestone this week was finally making a list of everything I could think of that I need to do to finish it. We think I might be able to get it done by the beginning of May if I really focus.

Seems like we're all climbing the masters mountain. My final final everything-must-go deadline is mid-May. I am a scare.
