How can you say it's a funny story and then tell me not to laugh?

It's not 'hahah, joke' funny, it's 'omigod, ponce, how could you be so stupid,' funny. _________________ Fall down seven times, get up eight. --Japanese Proverb

*clears throat* It was a dark and stormy night, and Ponce and her loyal compatriots were of course, out and about.
Jonathan: "...can you please explain to me what we are doing driving around with a horse trailer in the middle of the night during a Cat. 3 storm?"
Shallan: "Oooh, dark and scary!"
Me: "...shut up, both of you. I'm driving."
jon & shallan: "..."
*some time later*
Me: "Okay guys, let's go."
Jonathan: "Uhm...I love you dearly, darl, but you do know we're in a trailer park?"
Me: "Yup."
Shallan: "*unconcerned* That is not very good grammar."
Me: "Thank you. I really needed to hear that."
Shallan: "Don't mention it."
Jon: "Ex-cuse me, but why the devil are we at a trailer park at midnight?"
Me: "We're stealing a donkey, of course."
Jon: ". . .you're kidding, right?"
Me: "Yes and no. No, I'm not kidding, we're stealing him, but yes, I have a form for seizure."
Shallan: "So why are we here at midnight?"
Me: "Dramatic effect."
Jon: "No. No way. Oh God..."
Shallan: "*Cool, let's hit it."
Let me spare you from all the tedious dialogue there....skipping...skipping....fast forward--kay. Took the donkey and on our way home. I didn't go at midnight for dramatic effect, by the way, I went at midnighr because the gates were closed during the day; ignore that part. long story.
Anyway, got the donkey, dragged it home, I was trying to stitch up a leg wound, donkey fell on me, broke my leg, and then I had to finish stitching HIS leg. And that's the story. Boring, stupid, and bizarre to the end.
Woot!
*American colloquialism!
So in short, a donkey fell on my leg. _________________ Fall down seven times, get up eight. --Japanese Proverb

I confess, I laughed. But I laughed at the amusing dialogue, not at anything stupid you did. In fact, I can't seem to tell what stupid thing you did at all.
Anyway, thanks for sharing! Your stories are always a pleasure to read.
Today I'm happy that Ponce is back. <3 |

I also laughed, not at you Ponce, just the general story, you're friends sound cool.
But I bet you really did it for dramatic affect. _________________ Britland as dubbed by AsA

Also, today I hope Ponce can get around okay on crutches, and that she heals soon. =o
And now I think I've spammed this thread enough for the day. On to other threads! |

Welcome back Ponce, glad to hear you got the cast off...but now a leg? You may be cursed, I don't think you're destined to have 4 working limbs at all times...
At least the donkey didn't kick you (or you didn't mention it) when you were stitching it up. Those things huuuuurt...
Good luck with your leg, crutches aren't fun at all. _________________ . Dubbed "Usagi" by AsA .

Welcome back Ponce!!
Today I am so much better than yesterday. I have my car back!! Helpful to have my own car in a city I don't know. Public transportation scares me a bit. _________________ Dubbed "Cher" by Asa

Today I'm glad Ponce is back.
Today I'm a little worried about that writing subsription. Yeah, I checked London Independant Books' page on the Writers and Artists Yearbook website today. The field where the address should be is blank. It was there a couple of weeks ago so I think they might be moving offices.
Now I'm afraid the submission won't get there. There's no new address so that suggests that they haven't moved yet but I'm still worried. _________________ Britland as dubbed by AsA

*hugs everyone* Tamir, the stupid-Ponce part was that I know you shouldn't be on your hands and knees next to a potentially dangerous animal, and that is pretty much the biggest no-no in the book, but see, I've never read the book. Ever.
And I have discovered you can't do sutures in a leg. *wince* Butterfly works better, if stitches at all. I should have sedated the poor donkey first, but common sense said no, because the donkey was trying to kill me. By the way, will someone name him? 'Cuz Shallan is calling him "Psycho-mule" which is both genetically incorrect and unkind. *cough*evenifheispsycho*cough*
And yeah, my friends are cool. Way cool.
Jon = responsible one
Shallan = fun one
