Nope - one of the High Holidays. Major fast, major significance, it's the day our judgments are sealed in heaven. Judgment Day. ^_^ _________________ Self-styled Forum Grandmother, because I hand out nicknames and hugs whether you want them or not. ^_^

Today I've come to a few rather distressing conclusions about my health, post-seizure. First of all, I'm not getting any REM sleep that I can detect, or at least very little. Eight hours of sleep a day is keeping my body refreshed, but my mind is a complete fog. I'm struggling to concentrate on my best subjects, my worst have completely escaped me.
Today I also realized that I have lost all ability to write poetry. I can't even string together two stanzas, now. This is highly frustrating, as I used to be able to write lengthy poems on a whim...
Let's see, what else...
Today I almost got into a fight with my World History teacher over attendance, because I "chose not to come to class". Apparently she has never heard of this "Seizure" thing, and it sounds like an excuse. Wow, major props to her. Friday I'm taking her a whole bunch of medical paperwork and telling her, essentially, to take it up with either the Dean or the hospital, her choice...
Tenshi is really, really tired...but only mentally. **sighs exhaustedly** _________________ . Dubbed "Usagi" by AsA .

Pobracito! I'm editing a story right now that's about the exact opposite - this girl has too much REM sleep, and gets narcolepsy as her system attempts to catch up.
Feel better soon... _________________ Self-styled Forum Grandmother, because I hand out nicknames and hugs whether you want them or not. ^_^

I'm sorry Tenshi, Sounds like your body's on an unfortunate roller coaster right now. I hope things straighten out soon!
Yesterday, I FINALLY got an Xbox 360! Yeeeeaaaah! What with the calling of the boyfriend (an avid 360 fan, he has long sympathized with my lack of new gaming systems) and the playing of the Halo 3 and the watching of presidential debate, I had zero time last night for things like Homework. Oh well, I work best in the five minutes before class anyway.
And today? Well, today I go to see Neil Gaiman read a chapter from his new book! What a sweet week! _________________ If you're reading this, you haven't quite made it to the next post. |

Today I find myself experiencing mad amounts of envy towards unimportant for getting to see Neil Gaiman, while I've been stuck going door to door soliciting for a job. >_< _________________ I do commissions!

I feel sort of bad posting this and possibly soliciting more envy, but I have to tell you perhaps one of the most meaningful moments of my life!
The Neil Gaiman reading was superb, he read the last chapter of The Graveyard Book which sounds fantastic, and then he showed scenes from the Coraline movie. But finally, he took a huge stack of notecards that the audience had written questions on, and tried to answer as many as he could.
I did not know what my sister had written, but when he got to hers it went something like 'I have a twin sister who wants to do what you do for the rest of her life. Her name is Laura, and I was hoping you could just tell her to keep writing'.
Then Neil Gaiman looked up from the microphone and out into the crowd where I was sitting semi stunned and said 'Laura, keep writing.'
I don't really have words to describe what that meant, I was as giddy when I went up to thank him afterwards as I was when I met Nightwish. He was so kind and encouraging, when I told him it was me he'd talked to, he said the world needs more writers and then gave me a hug. It was not I that initiated this hug, but him. He hugged me.
All I can say is I now know what my senior yearbook quote will be, and what my encouragement when I'm dragging will be. That Neil Gaiman himself told me, Laura me, directly, to keep writing. I'm overwhelmed, what a night. _________________ If you're reading this, you haven't quite made it to the next post. |

Fable, that's fantastic. And now there's no question about it! I'm getting tickets to the talk he's doing at my uni.
Today my lecture's cancelled so I have the day off. _________________ Britland as dubbed by AsA
