You're both right, I suppose I just put a slightly more positive spin on it (my optimism can annoy people with its persistence). They must know their time isn't long. They must know that all of the stories they relive and homes they return to are but distant memories. Yet they keep moving forward, because a combination of stubborn pride and brash confidence propel them ever-forward. Those are the things I can relate to, at least. ^^;
