(Not exactly the most flowing piece, there are places where it surges. This is how it came to me, though.)

He didn't know it
But he saved me
In a world too caught up in calloused appearance
He was the man I couldn't be

Because he was honest
Like no man before him was
He was always honest
Had no time for lies or guns

And in that moment I saw him
I knew the man I was inside
With burning eyes and self-wounding pride
I only wish I would have died

He was so much more
Then I could ever be
Never afraid to speak the truth that
Every one else was scared to see

And I never said these words
I just turned to walk away
There will never be another strength
Like the one I felt that day

Because he was honest
Just like I was afraid to be
Never hesitated to stand his ground
Until the whole world could finally see

The greatest man
I never knew
Did far much more
Than I could do
He was alive
And I...
