No, you haven't gone crazy - Reggie DOES look completely different. I was trying to go for the "classic nerd" look with his first appearance, and he did indeed exude uber nerdness, but the problem was, he looked a little too much like one of my old boyfriends (goes to show the kind of guys I dated, eh?) and it was seriously creeping me out! I thought I'd be able to work past it, but no such luck. The heebie jeebies dictated that he needed a makeover... or to be quickly killed off in the comic. And since I've got plans for him to be a minor recurring character, I opted for the former.
